Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds takes kart racing to another level by introducing Travel Rings, mid-race warp portals that transport racers to new dimensions — transforming tracks, layouts, hazards, and strategy on the fly. Lead racers choose which CrossWorld everyone warps into, creating dynamic shifts each lap. The core concept: no two races are alike.

Developed by Sonic Team, CrossWorlds combines classic karting elements (boosts, drifting, items) with more complex mechanics: transforming vehicles (cars become boats or planes mid-race), extreme gear hoverboards, gadget customization, and cross-world transitions. The game is designed to be both familiar to fans and fresh in its gameplay.

Roster, Vehicles & Customization

Choose from a robust roster of 23 playable characters at launch, including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Blaze, and more. The roster will expand with DLC and guest characters — think Joker (Persona 5), Hatsune Miku, and others — bringing exciting crossovers to the race track.

Vehicles are modular: you can mix and match parts, stats, and add gadgets to customize your performance. There are over 70 gadgets to choose from, letting you tailor handling, speed, defense, or boost strategy. Exclusive Extreme Gear hoverboards from the Sonic Riders series also return for mid-air racing thrills.
